About the Role
As a Financial Controller, you will be a key player in Aarke’s Finance Team, responsible for overseeing the financial operations of our USA entity while contributing to broader financial and group accounting tasks for the Aarke Group. You work closely with the CFO and Head of Accounting where you lead a number of critical accounting and controlling processes, ensuring the integrity and efficiency of our financial practices across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Financial Operations for Aarke USA
- Oversee the financial reporting and controlling of our growing US entity, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial processes.
- Set up and maintain effective financial workflows with local suppliers, customers and other partners.
- Review current and introduce new technical solutions where applicable.
- Group Accounting and Financial Control
- Contribute to the group consolidation process, including intercompany reconciliations and financial alignment.
- Collaborate with the CFO on group financial reports, aligning the chart of accounts with the profit & loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
- Drive improvements in the group’s monthly and annual closing processes.
Broad financial responsibilities:
- Collaborate with departments such as IT, Sales Operations and Logistics to ensure smooth financial data flows.
- Support the budget and forecast processes and follow-ups across the Aarke Group.
- With a holistic approach, active participating in contributing to optimizing accounting and financial systems and processes
Qualifications and Skills
To excel in this role, we believe you bring:
- BSc degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- 2,5 to 5 years of relevant work experience from similar roles, audit & accounting firms such as “the big 4” or similar.
- High analytical skills and attention to detail, with a proactive problem-solving mindset.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in financial tools and software is valuable. Aarke work with all-cloud locally relevant best-in-class financial software including group consolidation. You are eager to learn and take the steps needed to become an efficient super-user.
- You are strong with software and IT in general. You are able and willing to help yourself constantly learn and develop. You are likely very interested in BI and AI.
- You are not afraid to challenge existing workflows and methods to improve quality and/or efficiency within the finance function.
- Fluency in English, with strong communication and interpersonal skills and at least a moderate proficiency in Swedish.
