ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for an Embedded Systems Lead to join our product development team. In this role, you’ll lead the electrical and embedded development of Aarke’s next-generation appliances. You will transform market needs into tangible, innovative product functionalities and ensure seamless integration between hardware and software—from early prototypes to final mass production.
This is a unique opportunity to take full technical ownership of embedded platforms across Aarke’s portfolio. You will work closely with industrial designers, product engineers, external partners, and manufacturing teams to deliver robust, user-friendly, and beautiful appliances.
You will report directly to the Chief Product Development Officer (CPDO).
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Drive Embedded Innovation
- Lead embedded development projects end-to-end—from proof-of-concept to production deployment.
- Create and demonstrate product experiences through functional prototypes using simple PCBs or breadboards.
- Develop clear target specifications based on market/user input, regulatory requirements, and team-driven innovation.
- Collaborate closely with product designers and engineers to define user-centric functionalities focused on clarity and reliability.
- Continuously evaluate and optimize hardware and software for performance and product integrity.
Technical Ownership of Embedded Platforms
- Define and maintain a consistent architecture across software and hardware systems.
- Document and update specifications, schematics, and performance standards.
- Sign off on critical updates and ensure system reliability throughout the product lifecycle, including firmware updates, field issue debugging, and compliance with regulatory changes.
- Analyze feasibility and impact of technical claims or new requirements.
- Contribute to sourcing decisions for components and final assembly partners.
- Set up and maintain documentation of key components, firmware, schematics, and code libraries for long-term platform consistency.
Collaboration & Communication
- Steer internal and external technical development efforts across disciplines and geographies.
- Translate complex embedded system concepts into actionable insights for sourcing, product, and manufacturing stakeholders.
- Represent embedded systems in cross-functional reviews and supplier negotiations.
- Facilitate problem-solving sessions and technical design reviews throughout the development process.
WHO YOU ARE
- You have a strong product mindset and enjoy translating real-world requirements into embedded solutions that enhance everyday experiences.
- You bring at least 5 years of embedded systems development experience, ideally within consumer electronics or home appliances.
- You hold an MSc or BSc in a relevant field—or have equivalent documented experience.
- You have a solid foundation in both hardware and firmware, and can guide prototyping, validation, and testing processes. Hands-on coding is part of your toolkit for prototyping and debugging.
- You’re experienced in leading technical projects and collaborating with external development and manufacturing partners.
- You’re a clear communicator and structured thinker with a strong attention to detail.
- You’re a product nerd like the rest of us—you thrive on creating delightful, thoughtful, and high-quality experiences.
WHY JOIN AARKE?
At Aarke, you’ll be at the heart of a product team that blends beautiful design with engineering excellence. You will have clear ownership of your domain and make a direct impact on the products we put into the world. As a member of a fast-paced, curious, and highly collaborative team, you’ll work with colleagues who are passionate about form, function, and performance.
